Digital Camera Glossary - Resolution

The more pixels per square inch in a digital image, the better the quality of the picture. The crispness of a picture or its resolution is a function of the number of pixels per square inch. Photos for Web postings require a resolution of 72 ppi, much lower than the 300 ppi needed for print photos.
